I was pleased, if slightly nervous, about being invited to lead two sessions on suitability report writing at the Paraplanners Powwow, an event which took place in the Northamptonshire countryside in September. The event was a huge success with some very interesting discussions, not just about the different ways paraplanners put reports together, but many other topics which were covered during the course of the day.
Following on from the inaugural Powwow, a number of regional events are being organised. John Redmond of BpH Wealth Management in Hertfordshire and I are putting together the final stages of a London event, the ‘Powwow Down South’. We also hope there may be other regional events in the south if there is sufficient interest. The first batch of tickets for the London event sold out in a day, so it’s looking likely that more (tickets and events) will follow.
The Powwow Down South will adopt a round-table discussion format in which paraplanners can get together to talk about the practicalities of day to day paraplanning life. If you’re a paraplanner, it would be great if you could join us.
We want to share ideas freely and promote best practice and, while we want to hear your thoughts, you can rest assured that you’re welcome to chip in as much or as little as you’d like!
The Powwow Down South will be held on January 21st at 10am. It will be held at a yet to be confirmed venue in the City and will run until noon. For those who have the time and inclination, there will be some time after the formal end to stay for some food and continue with the discussions.
So if you’ve yet to apply for a ticket, visit the website below and add yourself to the waiting list. If we can increase the capacity, we will contact you to let you know.
